Details

**** observed with win32, linux, Mac 20001013 branch builds**** When selecting "Empty Trash" on a POP account, the non-ASCII subfolder under Trash still appears until the applcaition is restarted. Steps to reproduce: 1. Have a non-ASCII subfolder under Trash in a POP account. 2. Have some mails in Trash and the non-ASCII subfolder. 3. Highlight the pop account and select File | Empty Trash. The mails in the Trash are deleted. But the non-ASCII subfolder still appears on the tree. Move the cursor to the non-ASCII subfolder under Trash. it keeps on trying to download the mail. Exit the application and restart, the non-ASCII subfolder in the Trash is gone.
Tried with an ASCII subfolder name under Trash. Same problem. Changed the summary and component accordingly.

Looks like this is a generic problem, not necessarily limited to non-ASCII folder names. Verified as a duplicate.
