Please add the following parameters to all .xpi download links: WT.si_n=FirefoxAddon WT.si_x=1 WT.si_cs=1 For example: .xpi?src=homepagepromo&WT.si_n=FirefoxAddon&WT.si_x=1&WT.si_cs=1 This will allow us to simply track add-on conversions with WebTrends. Thanks!
Can't you gather this from the download type updates in bug 567481?
I don't believe we can. This is WebTrends' recommended implementation.
Since the changes in bug 567481 went live Thursday night, downloads seem to be showing up correctly. They show up in the downloaded files report and my scenario analysis reports showing details page conversions. Are these special parameters still needed? I'd rather not add them unless they're essential.
Justin, The parameters are required for us to track add-on specific conversion events as a metric on various reports. It's still required to do this. Thanks Brian
Does this mean that all that is required for this bug is to find all the links that have ".xpi" in their name and add "WT.si_n=FirefoxAddon&WT.si_x=1&WT.si_cs=1" to them?If so i would like to give it a try.
Thanks for filing this. In an effort to not drown in existing reports we're aggressively closing old enhancements and bugs to get the buglist to a reasonable level so we can scope and process bug sprints in an effective manner. Patches for this bug are still welcome.
