Using Commercial 20001016108 on WinNT 4.0 SP4. To repro: 1) launch Netscape 6 on a system that has one unmigrated Nav4 profile and the default Netscape 6 profile. The *first time* you launch, the profile selector comes up as usual. Choose to create a new profile; Netscape 6 crashes. (I'm filing a separate bug on that.) 2) The *second* time you launch and thereafter, Netscape 6 brings up the browser window directly without going through the profile picker. I assume it has launched running the default profile. I can reproduce the "bring up N6 without going through the profile picker" behavior with no problem. (Drop by my cube!) Marking regression and nominating rtm to put on radar as a potential stop-ship bug pending further investigation.

The related "crash on create new profile" bug is bug 57002.
ekrock, How are you 'launching'? I cannot reproduce this today nor did I see yesterday.
I see this on launching either by doubleclicking the N6 icon or by launching N6 through the Windows desktop menu. Add'l info: once you've used the Profile Manager to create N6 profiles other than "default," profile picker appears on N6 startup as expected. Changing Summary to "if 'default' is the only N6 profile, Netscape 6 launches default profile directly without going through profile picker."
Summary: Netscape 6 launches default profile directly without going through profile picker → if "default" is the only N6 profile, Netscape 6 launches default profile directly without going through profile picker
Grace, isn't this the intended behaviour? (The crash described isn't, but other than that...)
Yes, intended behavior- if there is one N6 default profile If you want to see 4.x profiles on later launches you must use netscp6 -installer If you want to see Profile Manager on later launches, you must click the ProfileManager icon Crash is separate from this bug
If this is intended behavior, then I'm resolving this as INVALID.

Verifying invalid. That explanation makes sense.
