(Whiteboard: [closeme 2011-05-01])
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100526 Thunderbird/3.1
When the message list and message pane are visible, if I click on the delete button on the message pane, hold it down for a second, and release, two messages are deleted from the message list. A quick click/release, or pressing Delete on the keyboard deletes only one message.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Described under details.
Actual Results:
As above
Expected Results:
Single message deleted.
Both 3.0.4 and 3.1RC1 exhibit this behavior.

not to minimize this your prpoblem, but in practice this is most often caused by hardware or driver. perhaps a mousing cleaning, or burial is needed. :)
I can't reproduce. But a curiosity question - are you clicking X in the message header? Or is it the bigger toolbar at the top of the window?

I'm clicking on the X in the message header. I switched mice, with no result. I'm using the default Windows Vista mouse driver. Is there a Windows equivalent to an X events utility, so I can see what clicks are being delivered? Thanks.

does anyone know of such a utility?
Bob, you didn't see this in version 2?
Component: Folder and Message Lists → Message Reader UI

I think AutoHotKey (.com) has a tool that will do this.
