When I receive emails that contain attachments made with an earlier version of Microsoft Office 7 the converter file will not work. I am able to use my web-mail access to open the files correctly.  I have re-installed Microsoft office and Thunderbird. This also effects an attachment that I send out. I have MSO 7 and if the person receiving the email has an older version they "sometimes" cannot open. I am not a programmer and hope this description is sufficient.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Must receive an email with a MSO document made with earlier version than 7

Are the file names different , is MSO 7 does .docx files while previous version do .doc ?
This happens when the files are created by MSO 5. I have MSO 7. The files do not usually have the (x) added. When I open them they are blank or do not open at all and state the file is corrupt or will not convert. However I am always able to open them in my webmail application on the same computer.
