571463 - Tags on IMAP server removed after mail reception

All tags on IMAP Inbox folder are removed when new mail is received.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create IMAP mail account
2. Get mail (at least one message)
3. Tag mail as important
4. Get mail (at least one message)
5. Go to other folder, like Sent
6. Go back to IMAP Inbox folder
7. Tag is gone



Version 2.0.x worked ok.

This is most likely a bug in your server - you might try googling for the solution. I think it's an issue with dovecot, and there's a configuration setting you can make to fix it.

reporter, did you resolve?  or can you reproduce this on current version ??

TAG LIST:

2: IMPORTANT
3: DIRECT
4: MCAST
5: SSL
6: VENDOR
7: LIST
8: EXP01

   EXP07
   EXP30
   EXP90

SOME tags, but not all, are removed when mail is re-fetched; notably the following tags:

CRITICAL  [1]
IMPORTANT [2]
MCAST     [4]
VENDOR    [6]
BCAST     [8]


magically vanish when the mailbox is refreshed; others remain.

Mail server [IMAP] is:
dovecot-1.0.14

Am researching to see if another filter rule may be causing an issue, but I didn't see any way to un-tag a message using a directive, so this is a mystery to me.

Short response:  RESOLVED

Long-ish response:  Getting rid of /home/vmail/${MDOMAIN}/${USER}/dovecot-keywords (and the other metadata files) seemed to fix the issue, if you have the access to do so (most won't -- send a mail to your email admin asking him to delete the top-level metadata files for you).
