I'm using current trunk builds, and it appears that our attachment handling is completely broken - Open, Save As, Detach just don't work. No files saved/open, no progress, no errors, nothing apart from the dialogs to select where to save to. I think this has been going on a while, though I've only just done an in-depth investigation on mac.
The only change in the attachment handler code in the near past I know from, is Bug 558246. But for me, attachment handling on trunk works. I can open attachments and save them to disk. Oh, wait, yes, detaching doesn't work.
