[ Note that the Blaxxun plug-in is used in the i-bench test suite. ]

Using Commercial 2000101808 on WinNT 4.0 SP4 and Blaxxun plug-in downloadable
from http://www.blaxxun.com/ .

To repro:
1) run Blaxxun plug-in installer and install into Nav4 directory
2) verify with Nav4 that Blaxxun plug-in installation succeeded & you can view
using Nav4
3) copy over these Blaxxun .dlls from Nav4 plugins directory to N6 plugins
directory: npbxpro.dll, npbx3dpro.dll, npbx3d.dll
4) restart N6
5) go to above URL

Expected: AVI file plays, just as it does in Nav4

Actual: you get a dialog with this message:

This file has mime type video/avi and cannot be viewed using Netscape 6. You can
open it with another application, or save it to disk.

I assume that the Blaxxun installer has registered the video/avi MIME type
handler to the OS registry, and that N6 should be picking this up. But it isn't.

Looking at the Nav4 Prefs Applications dialog, I can't see anything registered
there for video/avi. Yet Nav4 runs the Blaxxun animation just fine.
Future. Not N6 RTM blocker. Netscape engineer this is assigned to is
overburdened. Blaxxun is not widely used, and Andrei has to focus on Real/Flash
crashers.
Target Milestone: --- → Future
This seems a bit whacked. The blaxxun plugin is a VRML (model/vrml) plugin, not
an AVI plugin. ekrock, might some signals have gotten crossed here? I'm inclined
to suspect that some other plugin is responsible for playing this AVI under
NN4.x.

Arun, is this the bug about MIME types? Is this old bug still blocking IBENCH?

I don't think that this is a dup (not that I would care).
this was deemed a dup by the plug-ins team during triage, it was discussed and
analyzed as such.
