I'd like to be able to subscribe to a feed that shows me when feedback mentions "security" or my web site.

This is a great idea, here's some info about it even though you probably don't need it. http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/contrib/syndication/

Probably pretty easy to implement, but first we need search to work.

Why do we need a huge button? Isn't the feed symbol in the URL bar sufficient? Hmmm.

Gives people an idea that it's there!

I'm ok with not shipping this if we don't have the time to implement this for a Monday night or Tuesday morning push.

Yes, that's definitely not going to be part of today's push.

To reduce load, we should only poll for the latest message received every 30 seconds. If that's still too big of a load, continue to double the interval polled until the load is non-existent.

Mcok Ups for Dashboard and Search Results Pages
Let's forego the links on the pages themselves. All we need here is the ability to add a feed to our search results page (save dev time!) and there's enough muscle memory to know to look for a feed button if we communicate it out well enough.

Tentatively assigning to Dave Dash, who might help us out with this after the next AMO milestone.

Dave's not worried about the bugs mentioned blocking the release. Can we re-file these issues on a separate bug and close this one?
(In reply to comment #15) > Dave's not worried about the bugs mentioned blocking the release. Can we > re-file these issues on a separate bug and close this one? Sure; close this, and I'll re-file those.
