User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.3a6pre) Gecko/20100616 SeaMonkey/2.1a2pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.3a6pre) Gecko/20100616 SeaMonkey/2.1a2pre When I try to load the indicated web page, the same elements are displayed 2 or 3 times at different distances from the top of the page. This makes the page content and links effectively unusable. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enter the url in the url field or click on a link to load the page. 2. Observe the incorrect display. 3. Actual Results: Page elements overlay other page elements at 2 or 3 places down the page, making the page unreadable and the links difficult to click. Expected Results: The page should be displayed correctly so the information and links are shown as the authors intended, insofar as the page conforms to standards. I considered whether the problem might be an incorrect page, but I'm not able to determine that and decided to report this display problem as a Seamonkey bug. If it's an uncompliant page, please bring this to the attention of the site web staff.
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.3a6pre) Gecko/20100618 Lightning/1.1a1pre SeaMonkey/2.1a2pre - Build ID: 20100618022104 I cannot reproduce the problem. John, can you test again with today's nightly? And if you get it again, then in Safe Mode (i.e. by using the -safe-mode switch on the SeaMonkey command-line)?
I got the 6-19 Linux x86 build and tried regular and safe-mode as asked, and have the same problem. Also attached a screenshot. The blue bar below the header repeats a number of times, maybe 9-12. The bottom of the page is ok. Is there some code that can do multiple reformats of the page that is doing the wrong thing here? Or do I have any incompatible libraries? Or is there an assumption of higher screen resolution than I have? I'm using 1024x768.
Here are the console msgs I got starting in safe mode in the KDE 3 desktop. Are they normal? [dilbert@localhost ~]$ /usr/local/alpha/seamonkey/./seamonkey --safe-mode ** (seamonkey-bin:11398): WARNING **: Wrong permissions for /home/dilbert/tmp/orbit-dilbert kparts: WARNING: StatusBarExtension::removeStatusBarItem. (In reply to comment #4) > Here are the console msgs I got starting in safe mode in the KDE 3 desktop. Are > they normal? > [dilbert@localhost ~]$ /usr/local/alpha/seamonkey/./seamonkey --safe-mode This is not safe mode. To start SeaMonkey in safe mode, use (assuming that your path is correct) /usr/local/alpha/seamonkey/seamonkey -safe-mode with one dash, not two, before "safe-mode". This will run SeaMonkey with the default theme and with all extensions temporarily disabled. Obviously, in what you thought was Safe Mode, you still had some extensions enabled.
Ran that with the single dash. Still got the defective display. There were about 60 blue bars. I would guess that whatever caused the problem did about 60 iterations. Is the reformatting of a page called a reflow? What's the maximum number of reflows?
