ALT-Enter in URLbar should not add www and .com to the URL

Details
1. add text bugzilla.mozilla.org, ox.ee, and any other URL
2. Press ALT-Enter to open it in new window.
Result: opens www.bugzilla.mozilla.org.com, www.ox.ee.com etc.
Expected result: opens bugzilla.mozilla.org, ox.ee etc.
Nowadays not only .com are used and not all sites must be with www.

works for me - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100611 Firefox/3.6.4
Would you verify this behavior in Firefox's safe mode or/and a new profile. Both are explained in http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+troubleshooting
