This is spin off of bug 532106, as users are seeing the background tab flash when switching tabs with d2d 'off', and on the Mac Platform. Mac does not do d2d, so not sure that 532106 is another bug, or just mis-identified as to the root cause, i.e. not D2D specific.
Severity: normal → S3

Unable to reproduce in current versions.
