Details

Mac only. Mozilla build 2000-10-19-08-MN6. Could not reproduce with Commercial
build because it zipped by too fast to remove the .sea.bin file.
1. Go to sweetlou and latest build.
2. Click on MacMozillaInstaller.sea.bin.
3. Wait for the MacMozillaInstaller.sea.bin file to appear on the desktop.
4. While the "Save 'MacMozillaInstaller.sea.bin' file" dialog appears (its
using Stuffit Expander), drag the file from the desktop to the trash (or simply
rename it).
Result: The "Save" dialog will hang if you trashed it.
5. Click on the Save title bar.
Result: You'll see all that garbarge in the dlog: "Netscape could not find
application (*&#(*WW#WHWH((VN(SnISOUD ...". And if you listen to the Mac audio,
you'll hear some type of extraterrestrial, garbled language.
Expected: No hanging. Remove the garbage and replace with real name (but, could
we please keep the garbled sounds?!)

Why is this an installer bug? The save dialog comes from the browser. Which
browser were you using? The build you cited or was the build cited the build id
of the installer .sea.bin? Thanks.

Over to Browser General for lack of a better owner.

I thought this was an installer issue, but it really is happening during the
download phase. I was using 4.7 to download the installer files. The
MacMozillaInstaller.sea.bin file was for the Mozilla build 2000-10-19-08-MN6.
If this is 4.7 browser- should this go in bugsplat?

submitted 518944 in Bugsplat. Might be nice to have auto-transfer of bugs to
different DBs in the future (if technically possible). Or maybe a "Transfer"
resolution.
