Details
As we found out recently, xbl-1 performance isn't as good as we'd like it to be. Thus, we've started going away from XBL for ui-elements that are not actually widgets - meaningfully, bindings that are only used once.
However, Tabbrowser is a challenge for a couple of reasons:
- Until now, we've been trying hard not to break compatibility for tabbrowser. It's up in the air whether or not we're going to stick to that policy for Fx 4.
- The bindings xul structure should probably remain in xbl - or at least parts of them.
- any change here is regression prone, very.
