The API supports this, we should have a way, probably from the web site, to change this.
Target Milestone: --- → 2.0
Bumping this.

We are seeing a handful of people asking for an email change in their account because they stop using their ISP. 

The other option is to kill the email as a account name.

This is definitely not an option at this point.
toby, how will this play out with the brave new world of browserid?
Punting on this bug until we know what the BID story is. At present, changing your assertion would not migrate you in Sagrada - it's a new user.

I don’t understand why it’s a WONTFIX.  It is annoying that I have to use an old email address to log in here, which I no longer use any more.  I had to go through ‘lost password’ etc. just to find out which of my email addresses was the one I use for Sync.

Why not just use account names?
Account names, separate from email addresses, are a dying breed online.  That's not to say that changing emails shouldn't be possible, but some of the decisions made early on inextricably linked accounts with email addresses.  It's something that may be revisited in the new Firefox Account work, but that's not this bug.

In the meantime, given that clients will recreate the server data, the easy workaround is to delete your account (https://account.services.mozilla.com/account/delete will do the trick), and then set up a new one.
Alright, I can live with that.
But then I suggest it is mentioned somewhere in the account info and that you can simply create a new one.
Is this bug still a WONTFIX? Seems like the Persona people would have figured out their email change story by now.
