Usually middle-clicking on links, photos etc. on Facebook doesn't open a new tab with linked content - it does nothing. However, right-clicking and selecting "open in new tab" works correctly.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log in to Facebook
2. Middle click on any link, photo etc.
Actual Results:
Nothing happens
Expected Results:
The linked content should open on a new tab.

Do you see this with current version 6 or 7, started in safe mode?

I use Facebook daily and this bug disappeared 6 months or so ago. It never occurred again, at least for me (always using the latest stable/beta/aurora release).
It think it might have been a bug in the way how Facebook handles clicks, but i never thought of counter-testing it with IE or Opera.
Does anyone still experience this bug? If so, which version of Firefox do you use? Have you installed ANY userscripts (Greasemonkey) for Facebook and/or all pages?
