User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100625 Firefox/3.6.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100608 Thunderbird/3.1

I was able to reproduce this issue with two profiles:
- A clean profile that doesn't even have a mail account
- My day-to-day profile which has numerous accounts and configuration changes

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click File > Open Saved Message
2. In the file chooser, select an executable file (smaller ones are faster to render)
3. In the new message window, click File > Print Preview
Actual Results:
Notice that an 'Opening <file>.exe' dialog appears when you print preview

Expected Results:
The print preview window should probably render the text content of the executable just like the new message window does
Component: General → Printing
Product: Thunderbird → MailNews Core
QA Contact: general → printing
What's the use case for this? I can't readily think of a reason that Thunderbird should try to render executable files (aside from steganography, but I'm not sure that the PE format could even be munged to look like a MIME message).
I'm not sure there's a use case for this. Thunderbird renders executables as text in the new message window (after step 2), so I figured print preview should behave similarly. The main issue, though, is that print preview is functioning as if the user opened or saved a file.

For example, if you perform the same steps above with an mp3 and you have Thunderbird configured to automatically open mp3s, print previewing will cause the audio file to play in an external application. It seems to me that print preview should never automatically open, save, or prompt to save a file. (Note: I assume print preview only behaves like this with local messages, otherwise it'd be a security issue.)
