User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.3 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/6.0.466.0 Safari/534.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; it; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100608 Thunderbird/3.1

When using SI_PKCS11.dll smartcard module, if I exit Thunderbird with a smartcard in, I have to remove it to let thunderbird.exe process terminate (otherwise, on next start it says it's already running)

If I exit Thunderbird without any smartcard inserted, I have to insert and then remove one, to let thunderbird.exe terminate.

No high cpu usage is noticed, no imap or pop3 connections.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Load SI_PKCS11.dll
2.Restart app
3.Close app
4.Thunderbird.exe still showing in task manager
5.Insert a smart card
6.Remove it
7.Thundebird.exe is gone

Dario is this also the case for Firefox ?
Yes it is also the case with Firefox 4.0b1.

I noticed that you can insert and then remove anything from the card reader to resolve the issue, I mean that it doesn't have to be a smart card and you con't have to authenticate. You can use anything that fits in the slot.
I found someone else with the same issue, I'm sorry it's in italian, anyway it depicts the same situation.

So it seems to be like this since 2007.

Is this still an issue?
Flags: needinfo?(dario)
Hi, unfortunately I don't have the possibility to test this because I don't have the same setup anymore.

Ok - thanks for the update. I'll resolve this WORKSFORME for now, unless someone can reproduce the issue.
