User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:2.0b2pre) Gecko/20100715 Minefield/4.0b2pre Glue/4.5 Firefox/3.6.6
Build Identifier:
Switching from Aero to Basic doesn't trigger some kind of repaint/reflow, etc as it does going from Basic back to Aero.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable Firefox Menu Button
2. Have Aero Theme Enabled
3. Change System Theme to Windows 7 Basic
Actual Results:
Status bar disappears, though resizing the window border from the bottom brings it back, see additional info below.
Expected Results:
status bar should hold its own and stick around.
This seems to be more apparent with using the Firefox Menu, not the menu bar.
Maybe this has something to do with the status bar randomly showing or not, but I did a quick test to see how the status bar reacts:
Decreasing and increasing the window's vertical size using the top border resizer and dragging it all the way down and up, reveals that the status bar seems to be actually part of the same area as the context area, rather than act like a toolbar which stays in place. Visible artifacts of this include the status bar moving up and down and jumpyiness while resizing. Resizing the window from the bottom border produces a similar effect. It also completely disappears from view once the bottom border meets up with a toolbar from the top.
So when after theme switching from Aero to Basic, a resize of the window border fixes the issue.

Note to self, changing desktop metrics through the advanced ui settings is also pretty bug ridden.
