People have reported to me that it's a bit confusing that I have a "beta channel" which contains an "alpha release". I suggest that this gets renamed to either "experimental channel" to be consistent with experimental releases, or perhaps even better, that it automatically adjusts its name to whatever release you pop in there, so it would change from "Beta Channel" to "Alpha Channel" as necessary.
A dynamic name would imply more than one channel exists, so that's probably not good. I've been referring to it as the "development channel" to my users. I think this is a little better than "experimental channel" which would imply that all experimental versions were in it including versions pending review, which are not.

Development Channel sounds wonderful.

Front end for this should be easy enough, and I'm not sure there is stuff to do on the backend, but please check it out.
