***** observed with a branch 2000-10-25 build **** I noticed this problem with the message body when you have a long cycle of replies going on. At the line break of the original message the exclamation sign will be inserted (!) and the deeper to the buttom the more !!!! you'll see. Same is happening to the Subject field inside the message body.

Initial impression... Using today win32 commercial build 2000-011008-mtrunk build, I was not able to reproduce this issue. The 6.0 feature "Content-Type: ... format=flowed" appears to working as designed within 6.0. This plain text wrapping feature start to fail (wrapping incorrectly) when you start to mix 6.0 email and 4.7x plain messages which I believe goes beyond the capability of format=flow. I have not tested wrapping with 3rd party mail message yet. Before I mark this bug as worksforme, I like to test further.
yes, it is a third (!) party mailer, Outlook-exchange, and i can reproduce it with 2001-01-10 mtrunk build, thanks for looking into it, Peter, if you have time come to my cube i'll show you the problem
I obtained some of Marina personal email that illustrate this problem. I will try to reproduce problem. ...

Peter, have you been able to reproduce it? What types of messages cause this problem and how many replies does it take to make it happen?
It look like the the program outlook & exchange is removing the carriage returns. I don't have testcase yet. The message indicated that it was sent from X-Mailer: Internet Mail Service (5.5.2650.21)

Peter, can you tell if this is easily reproduced using Exchange and Outlook? If not then this is probably going to get an nsbeta1-.
