We currently set printer features on GTK via a strange mechanism which involves creating lots and lots of temporary prefs (Lines containing "print.tmp.printerfeatures" take up about half of my prefs.js file).

Is this really necessary now that we use the gnome native printer dialog? Bug 147419 could certainly have a much cleaner fix without it.
This is related to bug 394413, and via that to bug 573039.
