The web page, http://www.keepvid.com/ , is giving the following error when submitting a URL from YouTube.
"Error: Please click here to download Java. If you already have Java, please restart your browser and try again."
This works with Firefox 3.6
I have tried with both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Firefox. Trying applets on other sites work, such on:
http://java.sun.com/applets/jdk/1.4/demo/applets/BarChart/example1.html
Reproducible: Always

Sounds like there may be some broken UA sniffing going on. Have you tried forcing a Firefox 3.6 UA string on the site?

Didn't seem to change anything. I would like to try to see whether the Java applet is throwing an exception, but I am not sure how to display the Java console.

I have also contacted the website to see if they can offer any ideas.

Reporter, can you still reproduce this bug in Firefox 6?
Please update to Firefox 6 or later, update your plugins, and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated version of Firefox, please post here. Otherwise, please close as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME.
