We need the mainstream user newsletter signup to be on the What's New page for Firefox (all versions of 3.6...).

1) Use same designs as on First Run page but with 2 modifications:

a) Add country (same as being added to newsletter signup on First Run page), which should be locaed below the email address box, and above the box to click privacy policy

Country: [box listing countries] - have the default set on United States...

b) Once they click on the blade, the blurb to say:

Subscribe to our monthly newsletter, to receive special Mozilla news, Firefox tips and tricks, and other Mozilla information.

thank you! Eve x288

Current blade attached, which says "Get our Newsletter".

Please change blade to say "Get Mozilla news". We did some headline testing and that scored higher that the existing headline.
Attached is the existing treatment for the subscriptio signup, which is currently on the First Run page. As noted already, we need the country field added underneath the email address box, and changing out one word in the blurb language. Thank you.
Eve, I just see a bunch of gibberish when I try to open the file from comment #2. Could you try adding that one again?

Also, I'm not entirely clear on this one...is it basically just updating the What's New promo to be the same as what we're doing on First Run, or is there more to it? The answer will determine who I assign this to, so let me know.

Thanks!
Copying Steven as a heads up for future work and Tara so she can track this while I'm on paternity leave.
Quick screenshot of the sign up area on the First Run page, but be add in "country" field and pick list under the email address box. thanks, Eve
Sorry for the old fumble fingers... comment 5 without the typo should say:

Quick screenshot of the sign up area on the First Run page, but please add in
"country" field and pick list under the email address box. thanks, Eve
Got it...thanks for clarifying.

Lee, let us know if you have any questions.
The newsletter sign-up form has been added to the whatsnew page in trunk in r73414 and merged to stage in r73415.

The sentence introducing the form is the same as that on the firstrun page as they both include the same code. If this needs to change, we can make arrangements.

Please change the blade headline to say "Get Monthly News" . This came out the highest from the various headline tests that we just did. Its good to mention frequency. Thank you!

> Please change the blade headline to say "Get Monthly News"...

Eve, should this change on both whatsnew and firstrun pages?
Yes, please change the blade headline on First Run page as well.
Please set it up so that the subscriber data from the "What's New" page flows
directly into the new Responsys database (new email service provider) rather
than Basket database. Thank you.

> Yes, please change the blade headline on First Run page as well.

Done in trunk in r73465 and merged to stage in r73466. One file to push to production: en-US/newsletter-form.html

I'll defer to Alex on the database change request.
Hey Steven. Just checking back in on this. It sounds like everything is pretty straightforward and on track (except for possibly the database change request?), but we're hoping to launch it on Friday...is that still doable?

Please have the default country say "Your Country" in light gray font, rather than Afghanistan. (Worried about getting false positives for Afghanistan).

Thank you. -Eve
I'll file a new bug for this. Sorry.
