Whenever I open an existing text doc on my Google Docs account, as well as a new one, as default layout google chooses the one for mobile phones (although I'm using a 15" notebook).
This does not happen on Firefox 3.6.8 using the same Google account (so, it's not an account specific-setting issue).
Perhaps Minefield is telling google it's being used from a mobile device?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log in to your google documents account
2. Open an existing text document or create a new one and then open it
Actual Results:  
The document is displayed as if you were using a mobile device, even if you're using a desktop/notebook.

Expected Results:  
The document should be displayed with the Desktop layout when using a notebook/desktop pc

Useful info:
this only happens when using the latest version of Google's text document editor, in fact it does not affect other kinds of google documents, where the editor has not been updated (spreadsheets etc).

I'm also having this issue. I'm on 4.0b3pre, Windows XP. 
However, most of my old docs are open properly. It's only recently created docs and new documents. As Andrea notes, if I turn off the new document editor I'm able to create new documents, but the recently created documents still open in Mobile view.

By the way, it works perfectly with Fx 4.0 beta 2:
