Please add a promotional link in the footer of mozilla.com across the site which directs people to the new landing page for the newsletter signup.  

Link says:  "Monthly News"  (we are open if you decide another word is better") 
"Newsletter" is also a good word for this spot, potentially.  

Placement suggestion: 

To be placed in the "About" column of footer items, as the second one on the list (below "What is Mozilla?" and above "Get Involved" ) 

For instance on the home page as well as all pages the footer appears : 
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/

Can go live as soon as the Landing page (bug #576413) is ready.

Lee, can you design a small newsletter promo for the footer? Doesn't have to be anything fancy...I'm thinking it could mainly be the newsletter graphic (that little envelope) + short text and a link. Putting it under the language selector on the right seems like a good bet.

Copying Steven as a heads up for future work and Tara so she can track this while I'm on paternity leave.

Couple of thoughts:
- that envelope graphic is actually from a specific mobile-related campaign..was thinking of the one at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.6/firstrun/ (ping Tara if you need the file)
- could you make it pop out a bit more? Maybe put a little box around it or background color behind it so it feels like a distinct element? I'd also suggest having a header and a CTA link rather than just the link.

Yeah, the change is done in /includes/footer.inc.php - which also includes the english footer menu/links - so it mustn't be used on non-english pages.
