For my Session Manager add-on, the previous version was 0.6.8. I had submitted a few public versions with the latest being 0.6.8.3. I also submitted a beta version 0.6.9pre20100723 after I submitted 0.6.8.3, but before it was approved.

I got an email telling me that 0.6.9pre20100723 was approved. I emailed the editor about this since 0.6.9pre20100723 is a beta version and he told me, he actually approved 0.6.8.3 and that the email was incorrect. I double checked the All Versions page and saw that 0.6.8.3 is now public. I also confirmed that clicking the "Add to Firefox" button on the main add-on page installs 0.6.8.3. Finally older versions are automatically updated to 0.6.8.3 through the automatic add-on upgrade process.

I noticed that the version listed on the main page was still 0.6.8, but I chalked that up to a caching issue. I made a change to the add-on description at that point. About 3 1/2 hours later I went back and checked the add-on page and saw the add-on description had updated, but the version on the main page still listed 0.6.8. Since the description updated, I don't think this is a caching issue at this point.

From what I can tell, the problem with the email showing the wrong version was approved and the add-on page not updating are both caused by the fact that there was a beta version newer than the public version that was being approved.
