When I look in the "extensions" manager in Firefox 4.0 beta 2, the list is empty. I haqve 1 extension installed, Adblock plus, and it working. I see the abblock plus icon on the firefox window but nothing in "extensions".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install Firefox 4.0 beta 2 on beta 1
2.Go to addon section
3.Look in "extensions"
Actual Results:
No more extensions

Expected Results:
I must see a least Adblock plus extension in the list.

Is it a fresh install and a fresh profile or have you upgraded from a former version? Can you also please enable extensions.logging.enabled in about:config and check for messages in the error console? Further it would be great if you could attach the extensions.sqlite file.
Version: unspecified → Trunk
Not a fresh install. I uninstalled totally, deleted manually some files and reinstalled the beta 2, now all work.
I assume that you can't give me an complete answer to the second half of my comment 1 now. If you still have the old profile please attach he extensions.sqlite and extensions.log files to this bug. So far this bug is incomplete.

Sorry, before the uninstalling, I enabled the logging but I didn't understand what you wanted, I don't know what is error console. I can send you the .sqlite file now but it can be useless.

The error console is an additional popup which appears (depending on application) when you click "Tools => Error Console" or "Tools => Web Developer => Error Console". If you go fast enough, you can copy the relevant errors or warnings from there to the clipboard. Make sure you select the right kinds of messages in the console's toolbar beforehand.
Thanks for the sqlite file. It was really helpful. I can reproduce the issue now. While digging deeper into the problem this bug can be related or even a dupe of bug 557956. But first some more information...

In the above case Adblock Plus 1.2.1 is installed which is compatible up to Firefox 4.0b2pre, as given in the install.rdf. On AMO the max version has been bumped up to 4.0b3pre now. Preparing an empty profile with an extension folder and Adblock Plus 1.2.1 installed, placing the extensions.sqlite in the profile folder, and starting Firefox doesn't check for compatibility updates on AMO and Adblock is disabled. You will have to perform a manual update, which seems to download something. It's not clear visible on the UI, because there is only a red border around the Adblock Plus entry. See the attached screenshot. There is also no restart button shown. Only Remove and Disable are present. Wait 'Disable'? The extension is not enabled, so disabled shouldn't appear. A manual restart fixes the issue thought.

Steps:
1. Create a fresh profile and don't start firefox with it
2. Copy an already installed Adblock Plus 1.2.1 installation into the new profile
3. Save the above extension.sqlite in the profile
4. Start Firefox 4.0 Beta 2

After step 4 the above mentioned situation can be seen.

As I see it this is a straight dupe of bug 557956. Doing the manual update check just simulates what we will do automatically once that is fixed
