The audio stream was paused when I closed FF and now because FF reloads the page it starts playing again upon the launch of FF. This applies to other content as well (video, flash, etc...) and goes further to my LONG time feautre request to allow users to pause/stop individual tabs. Reproducible: Always

I think that this is expected and is considered normal behavior. Check Bug 592293, Bug 572439, Bug 334987 for more details on this. Should change status of bug to enhancement.
