Details
1. Set the Windows taskbar to auto-hide.
2. Enter Full Screen mode in Minefield.
3. Exit Full Screen mode in Minefield.
4. Make sure that Minefield is maximised.
5. Hover the mouse where the taskbar would be (e.g., the bottom of the screen).
Now the taskbar unexpectedly doesn't appear.

I think this has something to do with bug 575044
I experience this from time to time on 3.6, but I always think it's because of flash. Pressing the windows key will make it all good again... Most of the times.
It doesn't help that many MANY applications have similar problems when they display fullscreen. I think it may be a bug with Windows. I get this somethimes with media player classic when I use it on fullscreen.

Ah, you may be right. I just noticed that Firefox 3.6.8 has the same problem. I simply assumed that this was a Minefield bug.

I personally don't remember auto-hide working with other apps in fullscreen mode, example: Windows Media Center, doesn't do anything with Auto-Hide and I cannot find a full screen mode for Zune Software, that only shows Maximized window mode, Safari doesn't appear to have such a setting either. Windows Taskbar Auto-Hide was just fixed in Normal/Maximized modes in Minefield.

Confirmed with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b12pre) Gecko/20110222 Firefox/4.0b12pre ID:20110222191848
No idea what component this should go in though, from glancing through other fullscreen bugs, they seem to be scattered through Fx general, core widget 32, core graphics. Shell integration maybe? Either way, might be invalid/wontfix, but marking new for now.

I still have this problem in the new Firefox 4.0.1 that I just upgraded to. After all this time I'm wandering if this is a Windows problem. I'm in XP.

This was originally fixed once, but now I'm afraid it will stay this way after it has changed again which is at least parity with another browser. This probably will be won't fix.
