making a large list of message filters. 10-20 the list vanishes again after certain time or incident. Whatever the incident is I cannot tell. Even in 1 name I have 2 message filters. Fed up because made 2 lists already and now back to zero.

Reproducible: Always

They completely disapear ?
Can you try in -safe-mode (http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode) so we can rule out extensions ?
Anything in Tools -> Error console when this happens ?

Please reopen with more information,  if you still see this issue with version 5 or newer
