User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0b3pre) Gecko/20100802 Minefield/4.0b3pre
Build Identifier:

In the AOM if you click to go to the Available Updates pane and then click check for updates, while downloading any updates, it displays "no updates found". Ideally this text would change to say "checking for updates" and be suffixed with "X found" while checking and then "Downloading update X of X" while downloading.

Summary: Available Updates displays "no updates found" while downloading and presenting updates → Available Updates for add-ons displays "no updates found" while downloading and presenting updates
Component: Add-ons Manager → General
Product: Toolkit → Firefox
Component: General → Add-ons Manager
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
Not sure why this was marked Thunderbird it's clearly Firefox and the problem still exists, though it's not as prominent and there's less time between getting them to match now.
Do you update your addons automatically or manually? It looks fine for me for automatic updates.
Manually.

STR

1/ set addons to update manually
2/ go to the available updates pane
3/ update addons and leave AOM
4/ return to aom and click update addons

RESULT: the middle of the screen says "no updates available" while the top says "updating addons".

EXPECTED RESULT: both texts should mirror each other in perfect synchronisation.

I'm using SeaMonkey, at the moment:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b13pre) Gecko/20110317 Firefox/4.0b13pre SeaMonkey/2.1b3pre
ID:20110317003002
and my addons are set to update manually.

"Updating addons" appears only at the top of the window; I understand it to mean "Looking for updates". While it is present, "No updates available" in the middle of the page means "No updates found yet"; as soon as an available update is found, "No updates available" disappears from the middle of the window and the available update(s) appear(s) in its stead. When the search for updates is finished, then either "No updates found" or "No updates available" appears in both places, or the update(s) found in the body of the page and a summary text (I don't remember what) at the top.

Even if "Updating addons" instead of "Looking for updates" might be seen as a little confusing, I'd say the above is expected behaviour. I'm not against changing "Updating addons" to replace it by "Looking for updates..." but IIUC that's not possible at the moment because string freeze is in effect.
Seen this today with an Aurora build. Confirming bug.
