Description

This is a tracking bug for the localization of the whatsnew page for Firefox 4 beta 3. This bug is for all locales that had a beta 2 release.

Individual per locale bugs will be filed as dependencies of this bug.

The whatsnew beta 3 page is split in 2 tasks:
- translation of the page itself : /firefox/4beta/whatsnew/content-beta3.html
- translation of the subtitles for the video located in
/includes/l10n/sub-fx4-whatsnew-beta3.html

the webm version of the video stops at 47s, seems like a bug in either Firefox decoder or the encoding of the video. For video subtitling testing, please do your test with Firefox 3.6 which will serve you the Theora version of the video which works fine.

So with both Sync and the SQLite upgrade backed out of beta 3, is this still the right content to translate for the whatsnew page?

@hasse, I am not sure, if those features are promoted for beta 4, then we can just use the translation for beta 4 instead. I don't have information yet from the release or marketing teams on what beta 4 will promote.

Mayumi/Laura: can you help Hasse and Pascal understand what content should be localized for the b3 whatsnew pages with the recent changes?

Hasse: I generally agree that this is the content we'll use at *some* point, so there's value to doing the translation even if it's no longer critical for b3.

Hi Mike:

Pascal and I talked on Wednesday and we're in agreement on what the localized version of the WN page will look like: the page will be, unfortunately, an exact copy of the default first run page we are currently using.  We're still waiting on content to go on the en-US version, which we'll likely get this Monday.  We don't really see any way to get the content localized without having a weekend, so we're cutting our losses and will make sure that the next  localized WN page is particularly stellar.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Closing old Mozilla.org website bugs due to them not being relevant to the new Python-based Bedrock system. Re-open if this is a critical bug and should be resolved on the new system too.
