I have multiple email accounts, each of which pick up mail, or undertake other tasks at their own intervals.

When the mail is picked up, I glance at the status bar [lower right], and might see, for example, this message:
"There are no new messages on the server"

Reading that, I can't tell which mail account has had that experience, and I would expect that to be reported.

It would be useful to have the message append or prepend the account name:
     "[AccountName] -- There are no...."
or
"There are no ... -- [AccountName]"

Also, I am curious: Is that message generated in one of the JS files that lay about, or is it internal to Thunderbird? I couldn't find it on a text search of the JS files in the Win7 Prog86 subfolders, for Thunderbird.

Finally, regardless of where it is, starting pointers on making a change to that code, as an AddOn, appreciated. Though code handy, I've never looked into AddOns....

Reproducible: Always
Did you look into Tools -> Activity manager ? it should do what you are asking for.
Thanks for your reply.

Yes. I was aware of that, but it is not a readily available [at a glance] notation. It would be useful, I think, to place some information on the status line as part of the briefly displayed message, there.

[I erred in my prior post: I should have said on the status bar, at the lower left, not lower right... ]
Pasquale, do we have other bugs like this one in bugzilla ?
