Sorry about the delay. Since we're going to push out 1.8 today and I will neither get review nor QA if I fix this now, we can't land it. We could do a tiny 1.8.1 (or 1.9, doesn't matter) release for this, and L10n, and bug 590688, for example next Tuesday. Let me know what you think.

http://github.com/fwenzel/reporter/commit/9907b95 This is how it works: Only if you access the front page without any path (i.e., / but not /en-US/) we'll detect your UA and decide if you are using a mobile device we care about. If so, we forward you to the front page of the mobile site. The currently "known" mobile UAs are: Fennec, Android, Maemo, iPhone, iPod, iPad. (Wait, quick question: Do we want iPad to be considered mobile?)

Long answer: I played around with the iPad this weekend and the desktop dashboard works beautifully with it. Short answer: nope. Stephend - UA detection is working for me by going to input.stage.mozilla.com for the latest fennec trunk build and the latest released android stock browser.

Removed the iPad, while keeping all the others as in comment 6. http://github.com/fwenzel/reporter/commit/37f3349

(In reply to comment #9) > Does that mean stephend gets to expense out an iPad to verify? I sure hope he does. :) If not, he can set his UA to the iPad UA -- or step by Lilly's desk to borrow one ;)
(In reply to comment #7) > Stephend - UA detection is working for me by going to input.stage.mozilla.com > for the latest fennec trunk build and the latest released android stock > browser. Thanks; tested on my n900 and my iPhone; both gave me the Mobile experience. Juan graciously verified on his in-office iPad (I own one, it's just at home). Verified FIXED.
