Shaver saw this, but he's not working, so I'm filing on his behalf. Left one opens the bookmark sidebar, right one opens the drop down menu. He doesn't think he added either of them deliberately.
the left one is the old bookmarks button, the right one is the bookmarks widget that replaces bookmarks menu when menubar is hidden. While I could imagine some sort of bug that could add the latter, I can't really imagine a bug that would add the former, apart a corrupt localstore...
(In reply to comment #1) > the left one is the old bookmarks button, the right one is the bookmarks widget > that replaces bookmarks menu when menubar is hidden. ps: on OSX it is there by default even if menubar is native and not hidden.
My localstore.rdf doesn't look corrupt, but it does have this line: <RDF:Description RDF:about="chrome://browser/content/browser.xul#nav-bar" iconsize="small" collapsed="false" currentset="unified-back-forward-button,reload-button,stop-button,home-button,urlbar-container,search-container,bookmarks-button,fullscreenflex,window-controls,bookmarks-menu-button-container"/> My menubar is hidden (and contains my bookmarks toolbar, as well). I have a vague recollection that this started happening when Sync stopped working at the last trunk version bump, but that's not high-quality memory.
since the plan is bug 748894, that will radically change the button, this can be wontfixed
