Did not find it in the known bug. SOrry if this is a duplicate.

Often, let say every 2 times I start Thunderbird (last version under W7 32bits pro with all the possible updates, motherboard M3N78-VM, quadcore i7, integrated graphic card NVdidia GEForce 8200 Direct X 11) the list of messages gets cleared from the bottom (the most recent for me) to the top while I am on the inbox folder.
On the attached image you see some cleared. Clearing occurs at a speed of 2 or 3 rows a second. This has happened with I guess all the v3 versions of Thunderbird I think. I was with v2 before and I did an import or upgrade. I am online and fullscreen.
The solution to the issue is to click on another folder like the second one then reclick on the inbox and this time the things are refreshed properly. Sometimes going to another program then coming back will fix the issue as well as restarting the app.
I have no clear scenario to reproduce the bug. This can be just after downloading some new messages, deleting one or I selected one of the messages.
Frustrating and it has lasted all the v3 versions

1.pick a message in the list
2.delete it
3.the list get cleared from the bottom to the top
This seem to happen also when I just consult the messages but I am not too sure
Actual Results:  
the list is cleared

have you tried in safemode (http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode) ?

Just happened again. I have noted the following behavior.
1) I delete one mail from the inbox, this was the last one
2) the two last lines are cleared
3) As I move my mouse upper and upper in the list, the lines that the mouse pass on are cleared. It does not "clear" the lines upper which are not shown due to the position of the vertical scrollbar
4) If I click on a cleared line, the content (classic view) of the message view is not refreshed.
5) If I click on a remaining NON cleared line, the content of the message view IS refreshed properly.
6) sorting by "from" or "date" does not help, I need to select a precise boxes/folders of the 6 I have (display OK) then come back to the inbox and this is OK.

Have you tried 3.1.2? There's a bug like this that should be fixed in that release.

Seems totally fixed in 3.1.2.and 3.1.3.
It did not find a bug fix corresponding to it but this looks fixed.
