There is chat with friends a "Go Online" link and it opens up a new link to the chat but it doesn't show who is on. Reproducible: Always
This only for the firefox 4 beta
not a security bug, but definitely sounds like a good firefox 4 beta bug.

I was able to reproduce this, but it doesn't happen to me every time. The Facebook chat also seems quite different than in 3.6.8 where it shows in the bottom of the UI rather than being a link you have to click. STR: 1. Open Facebook 2. Click on "Go Online" under Chat with Friends Section on left hand side of window. Expected: It would show the list of friends. Actual: It doesn't always show the list of friends and sometimes I get an "Unable to connect to Facebook chat" dialog As a side note when I go under "Options" and select Popout the chat does not popout.

Not sure if the issue is on our side or Facebook's - need to get some people looking at this issue to figure it out since Facebook chat seems to act very different in the Beta than it does in Firefox 3.6.8.

It is now fixed and It probably was Facebook's problem
Using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0b4pre) Gecko/20100816 Minefield/4.0b4preas well as the latest Windows 7 trunk nightly, this works for me. Closing as WFM - please reopen if you see this behavior in future betas.

i have teh same bug i cant open Facebook chat on firefox 4 beta but i can on 3.6
