We talked about this a long time ago but I didn't file a bug. You told me you needed a list of mimetypes. So: If a request comes in with "Accept-Encoding: gzip" we should send back gzip'd content. At a minimum, let's do this for: text/xml text/json application/json But is there a reason not to do it for all mimetypes?

I don't think zeus allows gzipping everything. Some mimetypes are already in a compressed format and it doesn't make sense to spend CPU compressing them again.
