Would be nice to have a context menu attached to the TabCandy toolbar button, that listed all tab groups - allowing you to switch to a given group without opening the full TabCandy display.
It would also be nice if tab groups were listed under tabstrip/tab context menu together with move this tab option. TabCandy button is hard to click lazily, tabstrip would be more convenient click target for switching to a group.
IMO, it would be more logical to use the existing tab selection menu in the tab bar. To do so wouldn't require any additional space, and allows the TabCandy button to retain the sole purpose of switching views/contexts, instead of trying to implement it as a dual-function button that would require differential user input to discern between the two desired actions.

TC groups could be given priority listing at the top of the tab menu similar to how the Bookmarks Toolbar or Most Visited are, with some possible selection methods:

1) Tab groups are listed as simple menu items, and are only used to switch from one complete tab group to another.

2) Tab groups are listed as folders, with sub menus that would allow direct selection of a particular tab within that group. This could, however, become unwieldy depending on the number of tabs contained in a group, and users may only wish to just switch groups without targeting a particular tab.

Of course, the menu would also denote which group is currently in use, and display its tabs as menu items.
Just make all tab groups normal OS windows and use the OS to do what is suggested here. See:

Marking as a duplicate of bug 596017, where Shorlander/Aza are currently reconsidering the Panorama + switch to tab buttons UI.
