User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0b4pre) Gecko/20100814 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Minefield/4.0b4pre
Build Identifier: firefox 3.6.8 (latest update)

visiting a website with too may redirects/a redirect loop causes the browser to hang. Occurs in IE, Chrome has a max redirect allowance.

Occured while installing adobe download manager with a server error.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to a website with a redirect loop
2. browser hangs/ no response from UI

Actual Results:
the browser hangs

Expected Results:
the browser to display a 'too many redirects' message (4 redirects is a viable max, I think)
Try to set up xampp and set up a redirect loop.
There is a redirect loop protection as well in Gecko since years and it seems to work for me.
I created a testcase at http://www.mversen.de/a and get the expected error with FF3.6.8 and Seamonkey trunk.

Please try http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode if my testurl doesn't rigger the error.
