User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0b3) Gecko/20100805 Firefox/4.0b3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0b3) Gecko/20100805 Firefox/4.0b3 following the Firefox update from 3.6.6 to 3.6.8 I also downloaded the 4.03 beta. when trying to install 4.03 it told me to close Firefox (which was not open). Neither Firefox 3.6.6 or 4.03 would open until I uninstalled 4.03, rebooted and finally updated to 3.6.8. After that, 4.03 installed perfectly. It suggests that mid upgrade of versions, nothing will happen until the upgrade has finished its course. Reproducible: Didn't try Better to not attempt any sort of changes until the whole update process has run its course.
