Because there's no option to disable TabCandy yet, I removed the button from the toolbar with Right Click -> Customize.  However, every two or three restarts or updates the button comes back and I have to remove it again.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Remove TabCandy button
2. Restart/update browser a few times
3. Observe the return of TabCandy


Expected Results:  
When I remove it, I'd like it to stay removed.

Rob, did you test this bookmarks toolbar opened? If not, I've seen some problems with customize toolbar interaction with tabCandy. If bookmarks toolbar is not on, opening customize window automatically brings it in focus. If you put the icon there, when you close view->toolbars->customize, the bookmarks toolbar dissapears. 

That is probably why you can still see it. TabCandy is one of the default features in menu now. I'm sure it's designed to stay this way. 

juanb, what do you think about this? should we have customize toolbar window opening automatically the bookmarks toolbar?

I've been observing it over recent days and it does seem to be a wider issue.  I do have the bookmarks toolbar opened, but I also have a couple of extensions that I've added into toolbars (web developer toolbar, PearlCrescent Page Saver and UberNote).  When I do the daily update and restart Firefox most of the time none of these buttons/toolbars appear but the TabCandy button does.  If I then restart Firefox again my custom buttons come back and TabCandy disappears again.  So it does look like it's reappearance is due to me not getting any of my toolbar customisations after an update or often when I first start Firefox in the morning.

I'd like to disable the whole thing, but that's another defect :)

Then it should be an enhancement request. We'll put this to NEW for the time being, and wait for juan or someone to officially confirm

I meant, there's already a defect open about removing TabCandy altogether:

The issue with the toolbars resetting doesn't seem to be TabCandy specific.
