With the launch of the new MDN pages and forums coming up soon and the lack of single-signon, users will need to login separately for forums and wiki editing. The best short-term solution is to update the Deki skin to have two login links at the top: Forums Login (link: /forums/ucp.php?mode=login ) Docs Wiki Login (link: /index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&returntotitle=en ) The Register link will remain the same, since the Deki user db is the master that is used to populate the PHPBB user table right now. Craig will be skinning the Deki pages soon, so we will be able to update the new MDN UI to reflect these new links also.

I've committed to SVN edits to the skin that in theory will do this. It needs testing, so I'm assigning to oremj; we need to pull the skin from revision 72630 onto staging for testing. Also, I just tried going to https://developer-stage.mozilla.org/en and got a "site settings could not be loaded", so something about the staging box is not right at the moment.

I'd rather take extra time and have one login. Seems like a bad product decision to have two logins.

I asked for SSO, but it is not possible right now. I rather get the site up and get the community going on the forums and then sort out the login in the next release (scheduled for sometime in Q4).

how long do you think it will take the get SSO working? i'm willing to push this out a couple of weeks if that's what it takes to get it right. but based on what i was told, it didn't seem like they would be able to do it in the time required. morgamic: can you get austin and someone else to expedite this?

Just talked with Morgamic and we've decided it's best to get the SSO done for Deki/PHPBB/Django website. I agree that "two logins suck"... so let's try to get that fixed instead. Not sure what to do with this bug. Should we mark it WONTFIX or INVALID? Sheppy: The staging site is throwing an error for you change, so we should probably just back out that chance and close this bug. Thanks all. I'll get a new bug filed if we don't have one already.

Reopening. We don't have SSO until sometime in Q4, so I rather add these links to minimize user confusion.

Please update the MDC staging server to SVN revision 72758; that should fix the missing string resource. There are a couple other things that probably need to be done but this will at least fix the error.

Sheppy: Can we chance the default Deki "Login" to be "Wiki Login" also?

We can... and in fact that's supposed to be done already, but isn't working. I'm trying to figure out why.

I've svn up'ed and cleared all cache files. Still see the missing resource.

I added notes to bug 589928 about what needs to happen. Stephen: We don't have SSO implemented, so you need to login to both the Forums and Wiki separately.
Verified FIXED; these have been added and are live: https://developer.mozilla.org/en
