Going to this site crashes Netscape 6 (branch build) every time. It seems to be a 
crash in MRJ, and is a nasty crash that trashes the system heap, and locks up my 
machine. Sometimes, the machine even crashes on reboot.

Attached a log from a debub build. In the debug build,  have to click around, and 
go back and forward to/from the page before it crashes. In the opt build, it 
crashes when loading for the first time.

Can we get info on the build that crashes?
Does it crash on Monday morning's build? (pre-limbo landings).
Does it crash on Thursday morning's build (post limbo 2 landings). There was a
limbo 2 MRJ landing as I recall.

If the above two results are different, does it crash on Wednesday morning's
build (post limbo 1)?

I am testing these branch Mac builds this morning, using MRJ 2.2.3, Mac OS 9.0.4
10-31-14 - No crash at www.sj-downtown.com
11-01-08 - No crash at www.sj-downtown.com
11-01-18 - No crash at www.sj-downtown.com - bug 53853 is fixed.
11-02-08 - No crash at www.sj-downtown.com - bug 53853 is fixed.
Bug 53853 is "java applets cause stuff to be painted all over the place"

None of these builds are extremely stable with OJI. I can get any of them to 
crash after running through a few sites at http://junruh/oji.html, but at least 
the last two builds fixed the problem with applets being painted on the chrome 
itself.

junruh, do your comments mean this cannot be reproduced anymore? (crashing every
time on this site)  If so, please mark the bug appropriately.  I'm putting this
rtm- assuming that outcome.

Worksforme with the 10/4 RTM branch build - no crash at this site. Make sure you 
have MRJ 2.2.3 installed from www.apple.com/java.

I am running MRJ 2.2.3. I'm also running Mac OS 9.1f2, which comes with 2.2.3

I can still repro this on the lastest limbo build.
Marked netscape internal becauuse of the Mac OS 9.1 issue.

Well, going to this web page now with the latest limbo build, on a stock Mac OS 
9.04 install (with MRJ 2.2.3) causes NS6 to throw up a dialog asking if I want to 
download the plugin (for mime type application/x-java-vm. I already have the MRJ 
plugin installed.

This sounds like a problem with the default plugin, somehow getting run instead 
of the MRJ plugin. Reassigning to bnesse for investigation.

I accessed the site with no problems with my builds (branch and trunk) from 
yesterday. I'll pull code again and see if anything changes.

Verified with fresh pull and build, OS 9.0.4 w/ MRJ 2.2.2. Still works for me 
with no problems. Attempting to fight election news traffic to update MRJ to 
2.2.3.
