It means that we don't have time to, not that we do not want to.

Ok, so I would have expected that we leave this bug open for that work and set the target milestone to future. Or is there another bug?

The bug that will implement it is bug 520124. This bug was here so we could land the implementation early before final colours and gradients were available for the UI and then implement them here. That is no longer necessary, when bug 520124 is fixed we can just do it properly in the first place.
Ok, that makes sense. It was just unclear with the missing initial information on this bug.
