no matter what web site I am on it crashes all the time all day long

What version of firefox do you have and do you have stacktraces? https://developer.mozilla.org/En/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report Does this happen in a fresh profile?

I have the latest version of firefox and I dont know what stacktraces are

it never seems to be a fresh profile, it always has restore or start a new session

if you read the link I gave in comment 1 it tells you what a stacktrace is and how to get on for a bug report. Also, create a new profile using the second link I gave you and test there.

Would you type about:crashes in the address bar and see if there are any crash ids. It does not matter which profile you use to check this.
