Is ist possibele to programm for the "back" Button for the keyboard not "Alt+Arrow left" because nobody fingers on the left hand are so far. You must take the another hand from the mouse. Is not so conform i think! Maybe you take "ctrl+arrow left" or "shift+arrow left" same change for forward Button!
Thank you!

You can also use the backspace key and if you want to use the mouse, use mouse button 4 and 5

I'm not sure how "Ctrl+left" is better. The problem with trying to hit alt+left with your left hand is that the arrow keys are on the right side of the keyboard...
Summary: always → Change the keyboard shortcut for "Back" to something that can be hit with one left hand

(In reply to Matthias Versen [:Matti] from comment #1)
You can also use the backspace key and if you want to use the mouse, use
mouse button 4 and 5
- backspace no longer has that function
- not every mouse has those buttons
Duplicate of bug 55759 ?
And bug 375459 ?
Also, I'm 99% sure there was a more recent bug about this... yes, I opened bug 1700919 in 2021 that is marked as a duplicate of bug 1685995.
These are all about the same issue: navigate back in history with keyboard using one hand
and so should be linked as duplicates (or similar).
