I tried to close the Message compose window using File->Close. The option is 
not working.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a new composer window.
2.Select File->New->Message
3.Select File->Close of the Message Compose window

Actual Results:  Still Message Compose window is there

Expected Results:  It should close the message compose window

Srinivasa,

Could you please try a recent build?  I just tried doing exactly what you
describe on linux trunk build 2000110521, and I have no problem closing the window.

Do you have a mail/news account set up?  We do have a bug where you can't close
the compose window (and potentially get stuck in other windows you may open,
including the account setup wizard) if you've tried to use mail before you have
finished an account setup.

to status whiteboard to see if we can get some more info from the reporter.
