User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100722 Firefox/3.6.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100722 Firefox/3.6.8 Mouse cursor cannot be moved to a particular area of the line to edit the name of the bookmark that is being created. Only way that I can get this to work is to click at the beginning or end and use the arrow keys to get to the location and delete the words I'd like to change an retype them. Normally I could just click on the spot and start editing there. The arrow keys were not used or necessary. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Got to bookmark a page either from the menu or quick keys 2.Try to click on the highlighted area to change the copy. 3.It can't be done. I need to hit the arrow keys to get to the beginning or the end. Allow me to click to the spot that I want to edit rather then having to rely on arrow keys. I'm not sure how long this has been going on, but it has been within the last several months.
This bug was introduced on FF3.6.7 on Mac. I tested on FF3.6.6 and it wasn't there.

I was able to reproduce the problem using the STR, with the latest Trunk on Mac OS X 10.5. Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; rv:2.0b7pre) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/4.0b7pre

I'm on Mac OS X 10.6 running Firefox version 3.6.10 and have been having the same problem as everyone else here through a succession of Firefox updates. I can only click/place my cursor once in the "add a bookmark" window whether I open it by key command or clicking the blue start icon in the URL bar. CLICKING MORE THAN ONCE DOES NOTHING. I can't select specific words or text to delete and I can't even move the cursor to another location within the "add a bookmark/page bookmarked" window (CMD + D). I bookmark stuff all the time and this a seriously annoying bug! Somebody fix it pleasssssssseeeeee..

I am also in this group... No matter what I do, I cannot edit a bookmark UNTIL I select a folder for storing it. And even then, all I can do is insert the cursor somewhere in the URL. I can move the cursor with my left/right arrow keys, but cannot select an entire word or set of letters in the URL.

Hi, did you ever see a fix for this bug? You can fix few lines in the standard theme Firefox3: in file "browser.css" (classic.jar/classic/browser/browser.css) Find and replace in it the line: outline: 2px solid -moz-mac-focusring; outline-offset: -1px; -moz-outline-radius: 1px; on the following line: box-shadow: 0 0 1px -moz-mac-focusring inset, 0 0 4px 1px -moz-mac-focusring, 0 0 2px 1px -moz-mac-focusring; the corrected file is attached

Thanks, but I'm not a programmer and don't plan to mess around with the Firefox code. I'm looking for a permanent solution.

(In reply to comment #10) > Thanks, but I'm not a programmer and don't plan to mess around with the Firefox > code. I'm looking for a permanent solution. It is fixed in FF4. The release should be out in a week or two. I'm running the release candidate and the bug is gone. It was also fixed in the last few beta's. You can get beta 12 here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-rc.html .

Fantastic! I'm now using the latest beta version and, as you say, it is finally fixed! Yahoo!
